Alan Hoare

Favourite part of my job

I just love the fact that no day is ever the same. You can’t put a price on serving the community you grew up in.

Hobbies and interests

I enjoy socialising with my friends and family, and in the last two years I have taken up running. I’m not particularly good at it but least I try! I also love snowboarding but just don’t have the time to do it as much as I’d like to.

Interesting Fact

I love tattoos and my right arm is covered in super heroes! I have two brothers and two sisters, my youngest brother has down syndrome and he thinks I'm the biggest hero for what I do, but really it's him who is my biggest inspiration - no matter what he's always got a smile on his face.

I'm water rescue level 2 trained and have just completed my Breathing Apparatus (BA) instructor course, one of the best things about being in the fire service is that there's always something to learn.

Your Next Step

Being a firefighter involves making a commitment. The training and dedication
to the role is demanding, but the role provides real rewards.

Join our professional team and make a difference in the West Yorkshire community today. We’ll help you uncover strengths you didn’t even know you had and you’ll soon start noticing the benefits.
