After successfully completing your basic training, you will be assigned to a station with an available vacancy. This could be at any station across West Yorkshire to meet organisational needs, although we will try to consider requests for specific locations where possible.

No. If successful following application/online testing you will be invited to a physical testing day. You will be required to confirm your attendance for the physical tests, assessments and interviews. If you do not confirm, we will not expect you to attend, and we will withdraw you from the process.
The full recruitment and onboarding process can take up to eight months.
You will need to maintain a high level of fitness, as you will be asked to complete the Chester Treadmill Test during the physical assessment stage. You must also pass the bleep test achieving a minimum standard of level 8.8. Yes, we accept applications from people who do not yet have a full driving licence, however it is expected that you will be willing to take lessons and possess a full driving licence before you can be classed as a fully competent firefighter
